Cain Amore was bred by Carla Van Bree at Van de Bernerweide Kennels in the Netherlands. Gail and I had been trying to secure a Barancourt puppy for a number of years and when we were informed by Karla Zuhaar and Bert Rodlinks, from Van’t Rijkenspark Kennel, that there was a very correct and sound Barancourt male available, we did not hesitate to say yes.

Amore is a very solid boy with good bone and structure having passed all his tests, by the Dutch BMDC, for use as a stud dog with an Excellent for Character and Exterior.

Amore comes from very healthy, sound lines; his sire, Multi Award Winning Ch Barancourt Van De Wyenberg (BOB Crufts) is 9.5 years old and Baran’s sire Herlettas Nimbus died at 11 years old and his dam Doremis Ahsefn Pixis still alive at 11 years old. Amore’s dam Ayla Uut y Waarkhuus died at 10 years, which far exceeds the average life span in most Bernese pedigrees.

Tas came to us at 12 weeks of age from Lisa & Jorgen Nilsson’s very successful Bernerdalens Kennel in Sweden. Tas being our first of two imports from Lisa & Jorgen, reflecting the support they have offered us in our quest to improve the Bernese Mountain dog in Australia. Gail and I are grateful for their assistance.

Tas’s Australian Championship title was achieved with multiple Best of Breed awards and multiple group placements along the way.

Tas became the second Bernese Mountain dog in Australia to attain the title of Grand Champion.

Finishing off in style Tas was BIS at the Harvey Ag. All Breeds Champ Show (750 entries) on Saturday 18th October 2008 with judge Mrs R. Ralphs of NSW and on Sunday 19th October 2008 with judge Mrs Crozier of NSW he was sashed BIS at the Bunbury & Districts All Breeds Champ Show (700) entries.

His sound structure and free flowing movement along with his majestic bearing make him a joy to watch in the ring, but his gentle, calm, endearing temperament attracts people to him and makes him such a pleasure to have around the home.

As a sire, Tas has produced many Australian Champions passing on his superb temperament and structure to his progeny.
